Grace S. Sandblom's Endowment
The application form will become available approximately two months before the application deadline.
In order to honour the memory of her late husband, Professor Phillip Sandblom, Mrs. Grace Sandblom created an endowment that was transferred to the Royal Physiographic Society on November 14th 2007. The purpose of the endowment, by supporting yearly lectures and other activities, is to honour the memory of Professor Phillip Sandblom and to celebrate the things that Grace and Phillip Sandblom stood for in Medicine and the Humanities. Activities should be held on or close to Phillip Sandblom's birthday (October 29th), centred around Medicine and the Humanities and be directed in the first instance to students from the Medical faculty. Activities are coordinated by a committee consisting of a member of the Sandblom family, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, two representatives of the Society's sections for Medicine and the Humanities, and the Society's Permanent Secretary and Treasurer (who is also the Chair). The arranger of the year's activities is appointed by the committee and becomes a temporary member of the committee. This arranger is responsible for the organisation of the practical details of the year's activities.
